did you know that there is wikipedia entry for Baseball Metaphors for Sex?

upon reading it i stumbled upon the Late Show with David Letterman's Top Ten Baseball Euphemisms For Sex

10. Working the rosin bag
9. Comebacker
8. Charging the mound
7. Riding the pine
6. Jerking one into the seats
5. Coming from behind
4. Doubleheader
3. Going deep in the hole
2. The big unit
1. Visiting Busch Stadium

anyone else think of any? how about:

squeeze play
a bullpen session
wrapping it around the foul pole

disclaimer: i like sports.

that's probably obvious to some of you. i probably like sports then most people. and other people like sports more then me. i like talking sports, watching sports and playing sports. heck, i'm writing this inbetween periods of rangers @ penguins. probably how much i like sports was obvious to lauren when for christmas she bought me tickets to penguins @ capitals and for my birthday she got me the sunday game plan for the phillies this year. so yesterday we went to the exhibition game against the blue jays. now having a plan means that you'll be going games a lot and you'll probably see the same people often. this is about the guy next to us who has the same plan.

he doesn't shut up.

he proceeded to tell me pretty much every big phillies game he has been to. like post-season games in 1983 and 1993. he didn't shut up at all throughout the whole game. okay, i don't mind exchanging a couple of words with fans at a game. when i went to the game in DC the guys next to me were pens fans and we said a couple of things here and there. but this guy talked the whole time as if i went to the game with him. ridiculous. his son, bless him, tried to help me out everynow and then and the guy was like "what, i'm just talking?" yes you are and it's kind of annoying. if i wanted to go to a ballgame and listen to someone talk the whole time i would've brought a walkman. i did have one glimmer of hope when i told him i was a Penguins fan. perhaps then he would stop talking to me. but sadly he got over it and continued. but one way in which he might miss a few games is that qoute "depending on if i'm in a scrabble tournament or not that weekend." seriously? a scrabble tournament? i might have to start searching for scrabble tournaments and sign him up for them.

oh, and his name happens to be Joe. brilliant.

also i got sunburn on my face. definitely going to need sun tan lotion this year in the seats.

wii would like to play

i was looking at some upcoming games for the Wii. there looks to be a bunch i would like to get. here i will catalogue them to gage if i eventually decide to get them all.

March 3, 2008 Major League Baseball 2K8 (might get depending on how it does review-wise. i've been hungry for a licensed MLB game for a bit and this should enable me to swing that remote all baseball bat-like)

March 9, 2008 Super Smash Bros. Brawl (definitely getting)

March 18, 2008 Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (i would rather have the licensed FIFA game. but PRO EVO looks really cool regardless of whether or not it has real players/teams. however, im still kind of addicted to FIFA 2005 for PS2)

May 19, 2008 Wii Fit (defintely getting)

Q2 2008 Mario Kart Wii (defintely getting. odd how the first party nintendo titles are sure things for me)

August 2008 Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (this games looks awesome for the bigger systems (xbox360 and PS3) hopefully it holds it own on the wii. because using the force and lightsaber with wii controls is what this system was made for.)

Q3 2008 Ghostbusters: The Video Game (this pretty much has the same deal as the Star Wars game. better graphics on the other systems but probably better controls on the Wii)

TBA 2008 Animal Crossing Wii (im guessing this won't be out in 2008. considering there is no news as of this time about the title. it'll probably announced sometime this year with a 2009 release. but with mario kart, smash bros and wii fit coming out early in the year Animal Crossing would fit nicely into that Winter 08 slot as a big release)

TBA 2008 de Blob (this is a quirky little game that i will most likely buy regardless of whether it reviews well or not. unless it gets a 1)

TBA 2008 Disaster: Day of Crisis (this looks like a pretty cool title kind of like a Time Crisis. im not planning on getting it but if it gets favorable reviews i might have to purchase)

TBA 2008 FaceBreaker (this is pretty much EA's version of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.)

TBA 2008 Rock Band (i still haven't played Rock Band. that being said i can't really see myself buying this because i don't really play much games with people to warrant the high cost. but i included it hear because, who knows, maybe i will get it)

counting it up thats 12 potential titles this year. 9 games will be $50 while Rock Band and Wii Fit will be more. expensive!
